In the four days leading up to Lion Air Flight 610, the aircraft involved received nine maintenance write-ups related to the left Air Data Inertial Reference Unit. When pilots have an understanding of the potential root causes of faults, secundary faults may be anticipated and mitigated early.. With the information currently known in the preliminary report, valuable lessons may be learned which apply to other aircraft types too.
